Belize and Mexico Summer Semester
Academics, Service Work, and Adventure
ProWorld and Jacksonville University's program combines classroom and field study focused on Belizian and Mexican history and culture along with immersive Spanish courses, hands-on community service development projects, cross cultural encounters, homestays, and excursions in and around San Ignacio and Oaxaca.
Guided tours of ruins and traditional festivals compliment the academics and development work.
Program Overview
- Intensive group orientations
- 12 semester credits, fees, & transcripts from Jacksonville University and University of Indianapolis
- Academic classes four to five days a week
- Airport pick up in San Ignacio and Oaxaca
- Full room and board with a local family
- Intensive Spanish Classes in Mexico, optional spanish in Belize
- Funding of development project
- Visits to Archeologial sites, weekend hikes, and cultural activities
- 24 hour emergency contact on site
- Regular staff check ins and access to ProWorld's offices in San Ignacio and Oaxaca
