Francoise Nelessen, ProPeru NGO Intern

Francoise, our first Belgian-born participant, came to ProPeru to celebrate her 60th birthday. She did not let this fact slow her down, engaging in one of our more physically exhausting projects: stove building.

Francoise was not afraid to get dirty or to work long hours alongside Javier, the project’s coordinator, doing so with a smile on her face and passion for service. A native French speaker, Francoise picked up Spanish very quickly along with all of the necessary stoves-related vocabulary in Quechua. Francoise was a pleasure to be around.
