Benjamin McGee, ProPeru NGO Intern

Ben spent five months of his gap year between high school and college with us at ProPeru. Ben worked in nearby Chichubamba on the Agrotourism project—arriving at a crucial moment of transition and development.

Ben coordinated with the community to help perfect the goods and services provided, gathered content for a webpage, reached out to travel agencies in Cusco to promote the project and took leadership in other areas to help jumpstart the project. Ben’s passion and commitment were palpable and evident in the strong friendships he was able to make with members of the community and with the ProPeru staff.

"The lack of money has always kept me from doing things that I may have wanted to do, but since Study Abroad at my school is required for a language major I fundraised and found grants that I could get through the school. Now I am just so extremely beyond happy that ProPeru did not become another one of my lost wishes." – Tiffany
