Health Care in Mexico

Spend your spring break exploring Mexico, helping those in need, and expanding your understanding of the world.  Team up with ProMexico to provide a fully immersive service program. 

The program will give students a chance to work on community-guided health care projects, enrich their own lives through service learning, and experience Mexican culture first-hand.

Program Overview:
  • Full room and board
  • All onsite domestic transportation
  • Funding of health care and development project
  • Round table discussion with local health care professionals
  • Pre-trip organizational discussions and program materials
  • Cultural and adventure activities throughout the program
  • Extensive staff support
  • 24 hour emergency access to support staff and offices
Project
Depending on past experience and level of Spanish, participants may be placed in rural health clinics, an elder care facility, HIV clinic, or organizations that promote public health.  Past projects have included diabetes and general nutrition promotion, vaccination campaigns, dental programs, and more.

Participants without previous healthcare experience will have meaningful volunteer placements in education and other settings.  Final project placements are based on the site director's assessment and community need.
