Health Care in Peru
Spend two weeks exploring Peru, helping those in need, and expanding your understanding of the world. Team up with ProPeru to provide a fully immersive service program.
The program will give students a chance to work on community-guided health care projects, enrich their own lives through service learning, and experience Peruvian culture first-hand.
Program Overview:
- Full room and board
- All onsite domestic transportation
- Funding of health care and development project
- Round table discussion with local health care professionals
- Spanish Medical Terminology Workshop
- Pre-trip organizational discussions and program materials
- Cultural and adventure activities throughout the program
- Extensive staff support
- 24 hour emergency access to support staff and offices
Participants will work on a number of integrated projects focusing on health campaigns, health education, and health monitoring of environmental projects, such as the installation of cleaner burning stoves and water filters, to provide you with a holistic view of rural and national health care issues in this developing country. Final project placements are based on the site director's assessment and community need.
