Health Care in Peru

Spend two weeks exploring Peru, helping those in need, and expanding your understanding of the world.  ProPeru and the Seattle Community Colleges are teaming up to provide a fully immersive service program in Peru. 

The program will give students a chance to work on community-guided health care projects, enrich their own lives through service learning, and experience Peruvian culture first-hand.

Program Overview:
  • Full room and board
  • All onsite domestic transportation
  • Funding of health care and development project
  • Round table discussion with local health care professionals
  • Pre-trip organizational discussions and program materials
  • Cultural and adventure activities throughout the program
  • Extensive staff support
  • 24 hour emergency access to support staff and offices
Project
Participants with significant medical training may be placed in public and private hospitals, an elder care facility, adolescent rehabilitation services, and rural clinics.

Participants without healthcare experience will have meaningful volunteer placements in education and other settings.  Final project placements are based on the site director's assessment and community need.
