Environmental Conservation in Thailand
Come immerse in Thailand's rich cultural heritage while preserving its natural resources through participation in a worthwhile development project in the northern city of Chiang Mai. Working side by side with local communities, you can help preserve the lush forests that serve as a vital community resource for food, herbs, medicine and wood, but are quickly being degraded by rampant deforestation and unsustainable farming practices. Volunteers will live with local Thai families to help them integrate with the friendly local population in the "Land of Smiles." On excursions, you'll also have the opportunity to explore the region with visit to national parks, ancient Buddhist temples and cultural festivals.
